Who is 5R Sailing?

At 5R Saling we take boating safety and YOUR sailing education seriously, while  keeping your experience well within the FUN category.

We have three classes of boats to meet your sailing education needs. While we are based in Butler County Kansas, all of our vessels are trailerable and as such we can customize your educational experience on many bodies of water in South Central Kansas.

Who is Mike?

Mike is a ASA certified sailing instructor, and a US Coast Guard credentialed maritime captain.

Mike’s grandfather ignited his passion for sailing in the 1980’s when he took Mike sailing as a child in a small boat on a small lake in Wichita, KS.  Mike has taught youth and adults to sail through scouting as well as his business.  He enjoys helping others experience the joy of flying across the water driven by the wind.

“Sailing is one of the most exhilerating yet peaceful pastime I have enjoyed.  I think everyone should experience it.”
